国旗の色をベースに、ビクトリアの滝を白黒とし、絞り染めで表現しました。73の部族が共存することを73の星とハートで表し、その中にコインや切手にあるモチーフがいくつも表現されています。前袖には、サンショクウミワシが金彩で大胆に描かれています。国旗の色には、国民を表す黒、自由への苦闘を表す赤、豊かな鉱物を表すオレンジ、そして、天然資源を表す緑。それぞれ意味が込められています。 Based on the color of the national flag, Victoria Falls are drawn by black and white with tie-dye technique. This kimono expresses coexistence of 73 tribes represented by 73 stars and hearts. A number of motifs on coins and stamps are in the stars and the hearts. An African fish eagle is boldly depicted by gold on the other side.
日本に古来から伝わる爪掻き本綴れの技法を用い、ザンビアの国旗のカラーと国鳥のサンショクウミワシ、民族伝統のエキゾチックな文様を織り上げました。腹の部分には国旗を忠実に再現することで着姿への配慮も大切にいたしました。 The obi weaves the color of the national flag of Zambia and the African fish eagle as the national bird, using the technique of nail-scratching that has been passed down from ancient times in Japan.
