国旗を日本の流水模様に見立て中央に描き、片方には太陽の恵みをイメージした赤の地色にくす玉や動物を力強く描き、もう一方には草原や瀑布などの自然の風景とその中に暮らす動物たちを描きました。日本で縁起の良い柄とされるくす玉は、ボツワナの花で構成し両国の友好を表しました。 The national flag is laid in the center and incorporated into the Japanese stream pattern. On one side ornamental balls and animals are powerfully drawn on the red ground imaging the sun. On the other side the natural scenery such as grassland, waterfall and animals living in it. The ornamental ball patterns assumed as good luck in Japan are composed of Botswana flowers and represent the friendship between the two countries.
ボツワナバスケットとブルーダイヤモンドのイメージを重ね合わせたデザインを考案し、光輝くブルーの箔を用いて豪華絢爛に織り上げました。 The obi was designed by superimposing the image of Botswana basket and blue diamond and was woven into a luxurious satin using shiny blue foil.
